CookWhatHK

Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-06-16. These are the plain-language rules for using CookWhatHK.

1. About CookWhatHK

CookWhatHK helps Hong Kong households save recipes and plan weekly meals together. Browsing recipes and sharing a single recipe are free and need no account. The weekly meal planner is a paid membership that begins with a free 30-day trial. The service is run by the CookWhatHK team and is not affiliated with any restaurant, supermarket, or cooking show.

2. Your account and household

Signing in needs only an email address — we send you a 6-digit code, or you can use Google sign-in. There is no password. Keep your email inbox safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Please use one account per person and don't share your code. When you invite people into your household, they can see and edit your shared recipes and meal plan, so only invite people you trust.

3. Membership and payments

Every new household gets a free 30-day trial of the meal planner — no card needed to start. After the trial, membership is a recurring fee billed to the household manager; we show the current price and renewal period before you pay. Membership renews automatically until the manager turns off auto-renew; cancelling stops future charges, and your household keeps access until the paid period ends. The membership belongs to the manager and can't be transferred. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Airwallex — we don't store your full card number. We don't offer refunds, except where the law requires it.

4. Your content

Your recipes, notes, photos, and meal plans stay yours. When you share them with your household, the people in it can view and edit the shared items. If you ask us to publish a recipe publicly, you allow CookWhatHK to host, format, resize, translate, display, and promote it on the site so other users can find it.

5. Acceptable use

Please use CookWhatHK for personal household cooking. Don't: harass other members, copy large parts of the site using automated tools, try to access accounts that aren't yours, impersonate other people, upload illegal or harmful content, or use the service to spam or phish. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

6. Recipes are not medical advice

Recipes are general cooking information — not medical, nutrition, allergy, or food-safety advice. Results depend on your ingredients, equipment, and technique, so yours may differ from ours. You're responsible for checking ingredients against your own allergies and dietary needs. If you're unsure, ask a qualified professional.

7. Changes and availability

We may add, change, pause, or remove features, and we try to give reasonable notice before major changes. The service may sometimes be unavailable while we fix, maintain, or improve it. It's offered as-is, and we can't promise every feature works in every browser.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, CookWhatHK isn't liable for losses arising from your use of the service — including ingredient errors, cooking results, missed meals, household disputes, billing interruptions, or temporary outages. Nothing here limits rights that can't be excluded under Hong Kong law.
