Homemade Teething Sticks come from a simple dough of egg, butter, icing sugar and cake flour, twisted into strips and baked golden for a crunchy chew.
Prepare the ingredients.
準備好食材。
Soften the butter, add the icing sugar, pour in the beaten egg and stir everything until combined, without whipping.
牛油軟化後加入糖粉,再倒入拂散的雞蛋,一起拌勻即可,不用打發。
Pour in the cake flour (add it straight in, no need to sift).
倒入低筋麪粉(直接加入即可,不用過篩)。
Mix and knead into a smooth dough, cover with plastic wrap and rest for about half an hour.
拌勻揉成光滑麪糰,蓋上保鮮紙靜置約半小時鬆弛。
Roll the dough into a rectangle about 5mm thick with a rolling pin.
用擀麪杖把麪糰擀成長方形,厚約5毫米。
Then cut the sheet into long strips.
再把麪片切成長條。
Hold each strip at both ends, twist them in opposite directions and place on a baking tray.
捏住長條兩端向相反方向扭幾下,放在焗盤上。
Brush the tops with a little beaten egg.
表面掃上少許蛋液。
Bake in the middle of a preheated oven at 180C for about 25 minutes, until golden on top.
放入預熱好的焗爐中層,180度焗約25分鐘,表面金黃即可出爐。
