Corn and Chinese yam purée: boiled corn and steamed Chinese yam blended smooth with warm water, a first food for babies around 7 months.
Prepare a small piece of Chinese yam and half a corn cob. Choose tender young corn for baby rather than tough, mature corn.
準備一小段淮山和小半根粟米(給BB吃宜選較嫩的粟米,不要用老粟米)。
Peel the Chinese yam and cut into small pieces. If it makes your hands itch, wear disposable gloves, or rinse the spot with water and dab on a little vinegar or lemon juice.
淮山去皮切小段(若皮膚痕癢可戴上即棄手套,或用清水沖洗痕癢處,再塗少許食醋或檸檬汁)。
Boil the corn.
把粟米煮熟。
Steam the Chinese yam at the same time to save time.
同時蒸淮山,節省時間。
Cut the corn kernels off the cob, or pry them out along the rows with a fork.
把粟米切粒,也可用叉子順著粟米粒剔出來。
Put the ingredients into a blender cup and add warm water — slightly less than the volume of ingredients.
把食材放入研磨杯,加入略少於食材份量的溫水。
Blend for about 20 seconds.
攪打約20秒即可。
This purée consistency is just right; if it's too watery, strain off the excess through a sieve or cheesecloth.
這樣的糊狀最理想;若水分太多,可用篩網或紗布把多餘水分濾走。
