Pumpkin purée, a smooth single-ingredient baby food made by steaming orange pumpkin until tender and pressing it into a silky mash.
Take a piece of pumpkin — orange-fleshed varieties work best for purée. Scoop out the seeds and remove any large stringy fibres.

The pumpkin is done when a chopstick pierces through easily; if it is still firm, turn off the heat and let it sit covered for a while.

Transfer to a resealable bag (double up two bags — a single one is too thin and tears easily).
